Dyer County set to scrimmage Dresden on Friday

Just a little over a week away from their final scrimmage before the team travels to Jackson South Side for the 2015 SportsPlus Jamboree next Friday night, the Dyer County Choctaws enjoyed slightly cooler weather on Wednesday afternoon as they prepared for a scrimmage showdown with Dresden this Friday night. The Choctaws and Lions kick off their scrimmage at 6 p.m. at Dyer County High School. Above, Dyer County assistant coach Eric Smith goes over technique with junior defensive lineman Eriq Genesy during practice on Wednesday. The Choctaws will face Liberty next Friday night, Aug. 14 in Jamboree action before opening the regular season when they host the McKenzie Rebels on Aug. 21.

Health Dept. hosts Breast-feeding Expo

Jakes Day set for Saturday

County School Board celebrates successes

School is back in session and so is the Dyer County Board of Education. On Tuesday, school officials met for the first time during the 2015-16 school year. Fired police chief withdraws appeal, files federal lawsuit against City of Newbern
