Harold E. Davison, 84, of Finley, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his residence after an 8 month battle with cancer. He was a retired farmer and a member of Finley Baptist Church. Mr. Davison was a former member of Emanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was devoted to his family and his career in farming. He was also a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast. After retiring, he pursued his interest in classic cars, as a member of Forked Deer Classic Car Club...

BBQ for Joseph Pitts to raise funds for his recovery

Joseph Pitts of Dyersburg was in a really bad car accident on Aug. 23. He was admitted to the Trauma ICU in Memphis that Sunday, and is currently still being treated there for his injuries. As of Sept. 7, he was still on a ventilator to assist him with his breathing. By the grace of God, he survived the impact of the crash; but the doctors and nurses said he was almost gone when he made it to the Regional One Healthcare facility (formerly known as the Med)...

DHS student gets a taste of college life

Trevone Warren, DHS senior and son of Tamela Warren, attended a program called Youth Scholars Academy this past summer. Warren was one of just a couple of DHS juniors or seniors (to be) chosen to live on the UT Martin campus for one week, giving them a taste of the college experience. Rain doesn't dampen spirits at fair

Wednesday night saw rain and thunderstorms, but that didn't stop fair-goers from riding rides or handlers showing their pigs at the pavilion. That kept the spectators dry, but not all the pigs as some were wet down for that shine effect. Cry Out America to host prayer event Friday
