Cremation services were conducted for Mr. Bennie Wade Johnston of Dyersburg, TN. He died September 18, 2015 at his home. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date. He was born to the late Wade Edgar Johnston and Ellie Marshall Johnston in Lee County, MS in 1936. At his recent book signing last Saturday at Hastings Entertainment, Lowell Tillman was pleasantly surprised by the turnout as sci-fi fans gathered in line to get a signed copy of his new book entitled "The Traveler". Beginning with registration at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, leaders and residents rallied together at Okeena Park for a one-mile walk in support of a common cause. Fall Festival draws record crowd

Fall Festival had a record turnout this year. Just ask Steve Guttery, director of downtown development for the Dyersburg-Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, who said, "This year's turnout was so large because we had it in one central place, the Farmers Market and River Park." Anyone who attended Saturday's event would have to agree, with all the activities, including farm produce, arts and crafts, music on two stages, a duck race, corn hole contest and a dog show, just to name a few. ...
