Dowdall, from the 1937 Hungarian play, "Illatszertar" by Miklos Laszlo. Ducks Unlimited banquet to be held Thursday at Lannom Center

Chimes for Charity's second night earns over $7,000 in donations

With total donations of $7,075 and 215 child sponsorships, Tuesday night's Chimes for Charity live-stream event was a major success. With final events hosted by Jim Chambee, family minister at West Dyersburg Church of Christ, and Tom Eison of Eison Insurance, a turnout of this magnitude could not have been made possible without their helping hand. Many thanks go out to all who were a part of assisting in the night's program, especially the wonderful members of West Dyersburg Church of Christ, who definitely took things up a notch by reaching out to the audience for more child sponsorships.

James C. Anderson, PFC, U.S. Army, was sitting in downtown Hue, Vietnam, when he witnessed something he'd never forget. He had just returned from the jungle after a 30-day stint on patrol, and had just taken his first bath in over a month. He said, "There were these two little girls, 13, maybe 14 years old, and there was a large crowd, over 100 Vietnamese gathered around us."
