Construction in progress for new Car Wash USA Express

The new Car Wash USA Express, 2315 Lake Road, under construction finally has buildings going up and concrete being poured. In a July issue of the State Gazette, Jody Freeman, representing Car Wash USA, was asked about the expected number of customers and the possibility of traffic backups so close to the Lake Road/Hwy 51 Bypass intersection. He answered: "It will always be manned and out of 20 locations, this will probably be the largest site that we've built on ... and backups should not be a problem." Freeman also said that on Saturdays they would expect up to 500 customers, and 200-300 on weekdays. With 11 locations in the greater Memphis area, five in Mississippi, and two in Arkansas, Car Wash USA is the largest express exterior car wash in the Mid-South.

On Friday, Dec. 4, my husband, Marcus, and I traveled from Dallas to Memphis for my first marathon. We arrived at the Cook Convention Center and met up with family to check in prior and enjoy the benefits of the expo. While standing in line, workers rang cowbells and cheered. I was proud and accomplished when they announced that I had raised $9,000 for St. Jude. I was handed bib No. 782 with GoGirlGo printed on it, and in less than 24 hours, the race would be underway...
