DSCC recognizes Ripley utility for support

On Feb. 1, Dyersburg State Community College staff attended a board meeting at Ripley Gas, Water and Wastewater (RGWW) and took the opportunity to thank them for their continued support of providing scholarships to DSCC students. They also took this time to update them on how their donations have helped recent students attending the college. Ripley Gas, Water and Wastewater has assisted 25 students with their generous donations to the college over the past eight years. Students receiving scholarships from RGWW during the 2015-16 academic year included Shianne Cardoza-Smith of Ripley, majoring in pre-Physical Therapy, Mary Elizabeth Cooper of Gates, majoring in Administrative Office Management, Joshua Henry of Ripley, majoring in pre-Nursing and Jordan Taylor of Halls, majoring in General Studies. Reelfoot Rural Ministries receives $25,000 from Walmart Foundation

OBION, Tenn. -- Reelfoot Rural Ministries recenlty announced a $25,000 contribution to assist with its hunger relief ministry in the communities it serves. The grant -- which was given to the non-profit organization through the Walmart Foundation's State Giving Program -- will help support Reelfoot Rural Ministries' grocery assistance program for families in Northwest Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky...
