Even a strong defensive effort by the Lady Wildcats in the first half could not keep the Lady Choctaws down, as Dyer County rallied in the third quarter and held a lead late before a late Oak Ridge surge led to the Orange and White's elimination at the hands of the Lady Wildcats 40-35 in the quarterfinals of the TSSAA Class AAA State Tournament at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro on Wednesday morning.

Students at Fifth Consolidated win regional competition

Fifth Consolidated Elementary School's Destination Imagination team, the 'FCES Choctaws', recently triumphed in a Destination Imagination regional tournament, held at Milan Middle School. Correctional Work Center volunteers help with cleanup, repairs at Bogota Community Center

Monday, March 7, 15 Dyer County inmates were on the job at the Bogota Community Center helping to straighten up the grounds outside and make needed repairs inside. One group was working on repairing a light fixture cover panel that had been stained by the leaking roof, while others were painting and cleaning up debris.
