Harvel Ralph "Marty" Martin, 96, of Dyer and Gibson Counties, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his son's home in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Born June 21, 1919 in Berryville, Arkansas, he was the son of Clarence Martin and Ida Belle Stout Martin. He was a retired steel worker from United States Steel Corp. in Gary Indiana, he was a former member of the Nebo United Methodist Church and he proudly served his country as a United States Marine during World War II. ...

Early Monday morning, members of the Prevention Alliance of Dyersburg/Dyer County attended the Dyer County Drug Court to learn more about the court's role in promoting healthier, drug-free lifestyles for members of the community who have been caught in grip of addiction and now face criminal charges resulting in prison sentences of up to 10 years.
