With the school year approaching at the end of this month as well as football and other fall sports getting ready to get their preseason preparation underway at Dyer County High School, the school's new multipurpose facility is nearing completion and is expected to be ready to use later this month.

Cold treat a hot business

Snow cones are all the rave, as local residents have sought refuge and dessert throughout these hot summer months at the Shave Ice Barn, located on Hwy 51 Bypass, across the street from the Farm Bureau building. Those driving past the facility in the evening, have probably already seen the large mobs of local children and adults who seem to frequent the snow cone shack in the late evening hours for refreshing, colorful snow cone treats.
