Newbern City Library's Summer Reading Program draws large crowd of local children

Newbern City Library recently wrapped up its Summer Reading Program. Throughout the course of the summertime reading extravaganza, 250 children and adults enjoyed Storytime events, special visits from the DCHS cheer team, DCHS football team, and a trip to the Newbern Depot Museum, where a representative of Reelfoot Lake State Park introduced them to some of West Tennessee's wildlife. Included in the program were numerous arts and crafts activities that were open to children of all ages.

Farm to Table Dinner to be held Aug. 18

Fall race under new management

Three Oaks Choctaws fall to Obion County in middle school season opener

Late surge propels Trojans past Falcons in opener

After taking a 14-point lead at the end of the first half, the DMS Trojans made sure the Falcons rally that began late in the third quarter was quickly squashed at a Leif Morgan interception set the tone for a dominating end to the game in Dyersburg's 42-14 win over Lake County on Thursday night at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Lady Trojans seek eighth straight trip to state tournament

It's become a tradition for the Dyersburg Lady Trojan volleyball team. Win district. Win region. Win substate and advance to the state tournament. Needless to say, the goal for Lady Trojans this season will be to reach the TSSAA Class AA State Tournament for the eighth year in a row as they are one of the strongest teams on the western side of the Tennessee River.

Trojans narrowly fall to Covington Chargers in jamboree action

The Trojans ended the 2016 preseason in nearly the same fashion as their previous postseason did, coming up just short to the Covington Chargers as a missed extra point was the difference in Dyersburg's 7-6 loss on Friday night in the annual STAR Physical Therapy/West TN Bone & Joint High School Football Jamboree at J.C. Sawyers Stadium on Friday night.

Tribe ends preseason with tie against USJ

The Choctaw defense bent but really didn't break as only a costly turnover led to a Bruin score, which the Choctaws quickly answered before ending in a 7-7 tie with the University School of Jackson in the Sports Plus Jamboree on Friday night at Jackson South Side High School.
