DCHS crowns Lindley Brock as Homecoming Queen

On Friday night prior to the start of the Dyer County -- Chester County football game, Lindley Brock (fifth from left) was crowned the 2016 DCHS Football Homecoming Queen. Trojan runners place third at Trinity Christian Academy

The Dyersburg boys cross country team placed third out of a dozen teams during the Trinity Christian Academy Invitational Meet on Sept. 29 in Jackson. Individually, Dyersburg's Jacob Gill (right) placed seventh overall with a time of 17:56 while teammate Cameron Buss (left) finished the race with a time of 18:10, good for 10th. In addition, Lady Trojan runner Sarah Emery also medaled, finishing the course in a time of 22:49, placing seventh in the girls' race.

Dyer County season ends with third-place finish

The Dyer County boys golf team saw its season come to a close on Monday short of reaching the Class AAA State Tournament as the Choctaws finished third in the Region 7AAA Golf Tournament at Pickwick Landing State Park Golf Course. The Choctaws were led by Cade Evans as the senior shot an 83 in his final outing as a high school player. Annual Reelfoot Arts & Crafts Festival attracts large crowd

On the shores of historic Reelfoot Lake, thousands flocked to the annual Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival over the weekend. This 45th installment of the festival spotlighted many local and home state vendors as well as others from across the United States, including those from Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Florida, and more. The festival began on Friday, Sept. 30 and wrapped up on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Tiptonville man charged with murder, pleads not guilty

On Saturday, October 1, William Jamison of Tiptonville, TN was arrested by Kentucky State Police and charged with murder of Mark Williams of Hickman, KY.
