Shorthanded, DMS still picks up sweep at Trenton

With the state Beta convention going on this week, both the Trojans and Lady Trojans were missing multiple players. But, those missing players did not hamper the Dyersburg effort during matinee action on Tuesday afternoon as both DMS teams picked up wins over Trenton Middle School at Peabody High School.

After struggling in the second half during Saturday’s loss to South Side, the Lady Trojans played better down the stretch against Peabody on Tuesday night, answering a Lady Tide run by making better shots during Dyersburg’s 53-46 win at Trenton.

Residents express concerns about grain dust, public hearings announced at city meeting

On Monday, Nov. 21, the city of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened at 6 p.m. inside the Municipal Building Courtroom. All aldermen were present with the exception of Bob Kirk and Dennis Moody.

Former city employee fired over Facebook video loses appeal 4-3

On Monday, Nov. 21, at approximately 7 p.m., former city employee Brian Lucious presented an appeal of termination to the city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen. All aldermen were present at the meeting, with the exception of aldermen Bob Kirk and Dennis Moody.

DPD patrol vehicle hit while on traffic stop

On Saturday, Nov. 19 at approximately 8:32 p.m. a red Jeep on Interstate 155 struck a Dyersburg Police Department patrol vehicle. One DPD officer was not inside the vehicle as they were on a traffic stop off of exit 13. The other officer heard the brakes of the Jeep squealing and hurriedly exited the vehicle that was hit.
