Lady Choctaws dominate Russellville in Holiday Classic opening round

The Dyer County girls began defense of their Holiday Classic title in impressive fashion, jumping out to a big lead before the Lady Panthers even got on the board on the way to a 73-24 win over Russellville, Ky. (who where without their leading scorer) in the Lady Marshals Holiday Classic at Marshall County High School in Benton, Ky. on Monday night.

Trojans take first game in Cowles Classic

After a tightly contested opening few minutes of action, the Trojans ended the first frame on a 13-3 run which set the tone for the next two dozen minutes as the Dyersburg boys claimed a 68-45 win over Southaven on the first day of the Charles Cowles Classic at Dyersburg High School on Monday night.

Criswell wins shotgun in Shriners raffle

Jonathan Criswell of Dyersburg was the lucky winner of a shotgun that was raffled off through the Al Chymia Shriners, based out of Memphis. The raffle occurred Dec. 10. The shotgun, a Mossberg 20-gauge youth model, was donated by Jimmy Anderson, owner of Old South Trading Company of Dyersburg. All proceeds from the raffle went to benefit Shriner’s Children Hospital. Local Al Chymia/ Dyersburg Shriners Club members presented Criswell with the shotgun Friday, Dec. 16, at Old South Trading Company. Trimble appoints new aldermen, McFarland takes oath of office
