Dyer County's Autry to continue softball career at Dyersburg State

Dyer County High School pitcher Shelby Autry is just a week or so away from returning to the field for her senior season after her junior campaign was cut short by injury. As she takes the field when the Lady Choctaws begin the 2017 season, Autry already knows where she will be playing in 2018 as the DCHS senior signed on Thursday to play next season close to home at Dyersburg State Community College.

3-car wreck on Tickle St. results in injury of 3 minors

At approximately 8 a.m. Thursday, law enforcement officials with Dyersburg Police Department, Dyersburg Fire Department, and Tennova EMS responded to a 3-car motor vehicle collision on Tickle Street, which resulted in the unknown injury of two juveniles, ages 16, 17, as well as a 4-year-old child.

Electric crews continue repairs

Dyersburg Electric System, along with assistance from surrounding municipal electric utilities from Union City, Ripley, and Jackson, worked around the clock all day and night Wednesday making repairs to broken and downed utility poles across Dyersburg. Repairs continued on Thursday, as crews labored on the broken utility poles along the Highway 51 Bypass (pictured here) as well as other areas across the city.
