Trojans fall to Haywood, Ripley to open season

With rain delaying the Dyersburg baseball season’s opening by two days, the Trojans shifted their 2017 debut down Highway 51 to Ripley’s portion of the Aaron Schuh Tournament where the black and gold dropped two games on Wednesday evening, falling 4-1 in the opener to Haywood before dropping a 6-3 decision to the hosting Ripley Tigers in a pair of hard-fought setbacks in the time-limited games.

City School officials meet with Sanderson

On Wednesday, Feb 15, School Superintendent Neel Durbin, Principal Cal Johnson, and Principal Kim Worley attended meetings at the capitol in Nashville to discuss upcoming legislation and state education budget issues for the upcoming year. The group also attended House and Senate committee hearings and participated in roundtable discussions with other education leaders from around the state. Sanderson met with the group later that day to offer his support and hear their suggestions.
