DC’s Lamb repeats seventh-place finish in CrossFit Open

Mall hosts fashion show for special needs adults

BRANDON HUTCHESON bhutcheson@stategazette.com On Tuesday, over 60 local special needs adults, along with their caretakers, gathered at the Dyersburg Mall center court for a day planned with various activities, including a fashion show. Assisting the mall office staff were Divine Salon, who styled the fashion show participants’ hair, and Peebles, who assisted with make-up. Also, volunteers painted the nails of the participants. DHS FFA Parliamentary Procedure earns 1st in state, advances to nationals

While attending the state FFA convention in Gatlinburg, March 25-29, the Dyersburg High School Parliamentary Procedure team, consisting of Abby Adams, Ally Hawkins, Rebecca Reed, Taylor Welch, Tauseef Nadeem, and Aaron Stapleton, placed first in the state with their performance during the state-level competition. With five individuals of the six-member squad returning from last year’s third-place state effort, the team had only common goal in mind: to win state.

National Guard holds active-shooter training with local first response, law enforcement

In an effort to prepare for the instance of an active shooter situation, the National Guard-168th M.P. Battalion hosted a 3-hour training activity at the Dyersburg National Guard Armory involving numerous local enforcement officials of Dyersburg Police Department, as well as first responders of Tennova EMS, Air Evac Lifeteam-Union City, and Dyersburg Fire Department.
