Things looking up on the homefront

Though it’s been a few weeks since the last words were written, today it only seems fitting to share some positive news regarding the city of Dyersburg, as well Dyer County in general. Things have been rather hectic the last few months with numerous trips being made across the Mississippi River to our sister newspaper in Kennett, Mo., and one thing realized during the miles driven has been a greater appreciation for the home base here in Dyer County...

Riley served as circuit court judge for Dyer and Lake counties as well as judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals from Sept. 1, 1978 through July 15, 2004. “Reelfoot Killins’” marks Riley’s first venture into the literacy world...

Ford presented TRBA Lifetime Achievement Award

“I have been working at Ford full time for 40 years, but really I started working for the company when I was about 12 years old. In the summer, I would work on pulling nails from boards during construction at Dyersburg State, and I would wreck concrete forms,” said John Ford, third-generation president and CEO of Ford Construction.

Chamber hosts 2017 Business Expo

Each year, in conjunction with National Small Business Week, the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual business expo, inviting local businesses to showcase products and services they provide to the general public. Held on Thursday, May 4 at the Lannom Center, a total of 61 vendors, ranging from small business to non-profit organizations, and even large industries showcased their services.
