Dyer County man takes modern approach at traditional gardening

Redefining traditional gardening, Dyer County Constable Randy Wolf has attracted much local attention by approaching his garden with a new innovative design, which incorporates the use of buckets in lieu of planting pots, providing a more controlled garden, with less weeds, capable of retaining more moisture.

DCHS to host early registration for new students

Escape-room challenge held at McIver’s Grant

On Friday, McIver’s Grant Public Library hosted an Escape Room Challenge at 11 a.m. The challenge course was set up in the Kid’s Zone reading room, and area children of all ages joined in on the fun.

Tencom hosts Code Camp at Mill Workspace

Friday evening, 12 students participating in this year’s Code Camp, wrapped up their 4-day-long expedition through the realm of computer programming with demonstrations of the Scratch program and its function in simple videogame development, and how to connect the Raspberry Pi computer to the breadboard in order to interact with the games they developed by making LED lights turn on and off. Tencom/Mill Workspace owner Chris Donaldson, says many students even went as far as to create a Christmas tree light simulation, creating special buttons controlling the games they built.

Law enforcement, health organizations discuss response to domestic violence

Early Wednesday morning, representatives from numerous local organizations including Dyer County Health Department, Dyer County Sheriff’s Department, DPD, and numerous others, gathered inside the main office of WRAP [Wo/Men’s Resource Rape & Assistance Program] to learn more about Coordinated Community Response [CCR] and Advocacy Initiated Response [AIR], both of which are designed to aid victims of batterers.
