It is a caring act to have your pet neutered or spayed. It’s hard on animals to keep having one litter after another and it brings a lot of unwanted babies into the world. If an animal is adopted from a shelter, it is Tennessee state law that the animal must be neutered or spayed. This will be an added expense, but some expense is eliminated because all animals adopted from the Dyersburg Dyer County Humane Society will be current on their vaccinations...

First Responders Back to School Bash set for Aug. 15 at Okeena

Tennova-Dyersburg receives 2-star rating in Medicare evaluation

In Medicare’s public evaluation of 4,600 hospitals nationwide [107 evaluated in Tennessee], Tennova Healthcare-Dyersburg was one of 22 in Tennessee receiving a 2-star rating, with the remaining 84 hospitals receiving 3-stars or above, including Tennova’s sister hospital-Tennova Healthcare Regional in Jackson.

County school board terminates DCHS assistant coach

‘A Night of Oldies’ set for First Baptist Church

McIver’s Grant launches after-school Lego Club

After the success of Lego Club during their Summer Reading Program, McIver’s Grant Public Library officially began an after-school version of the club on Thursday afternoon. Participating children were invited to the library’s Kids Zone at 3:30 p.m. to craft their Lego masterpieces. Lego Club will occur twice monthly, the first and third Thursdays of each month. The next installment of the club will occur on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 3:30 p.m.

Local healthcare professional selected by governor to serve on state board

Recently, Health Connect America-Dyersburg Health Connect Regional Director Ella Bentley was chosen by Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam to serve on the Board of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors. Bentley is one of only five selected to serve on the board.
