Farms Business Center celebrates solar eclipse

The Farms Business Center on Flowering Dogwood Lane took some time to celebrate the solar eclipse on Aug. 21. The day was hot and humid. However, that didn’t stop the businesses from getting outside to witness the 2017 solar eclipse. Patrons enjoyed solar eclipse treats such as Starburst, Milky Ways, Moon Pies, Sun Chips, Sunkist Tea, You Are My Sunshine punch, and lunch. Woman accused in shooting pleads guilty to lesser charge

A Poplar Bluff, Mo., woman, initially charged with attempted murder for shooting a man in the back in Dyersburg in November of last year, pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated assault and was released from jail for time served. Brittany Lashae Jackson was accused of shooting the victim at about 8 p.m. Nov. 10 on Tucker Circle, off of Upper Finley Road. She fled the scene, but was arrested shortly afterward at a Lake Road convenience store while pumping gas, police said...
