Gale Ray Cavness, 58, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1959 in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Rev. Ray Cavness of Halls and the late Merle Cooper Cavness Carter of Jackson. Gale attended Halls High School, Dyersburg State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. ...

The National Board that is chaired by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded funds to Dyer County in the amount of $6,228 to help support local emergency food and shelter services.
