Lady Trojans’ season ends with 2 losses at state

Though the Lady Trojans’ run at the Class AA State Tournament came to an end in the final game of the opening day of the brackets after a three-set loss to Signal Mountain at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro on Tuesday evening, Dyersburg volleyball head coach Marilyn Liljenquist was proud of how her team responded after a rough start to the tournament earlier in the day.

Fincher wraps up listening tour, close to announcing plans

When Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker made the announcement in September that he would not seek re-election and retire from the Senate, speculation began to who would fill his seat. Former Congressman Stephen Fincher, from the Crockett County community of Frog Jump, wrapped up a statewide listening tour Tuesday night in Memphis, to discuss with Tennesseans if he should join the Republican ballot for the Senate position. Prior to closing the tour in Memphis, Fincher made a stop in Dyersburg Tuesday morning and spoke with State Gazette about the tour and the possibility of running for the Senate.
