Payback: Dyer County dominates second half in win over Bolton

Though things got off to a slow start with the Lady Warriors keeping it close during the early stages of the opening frame, a strong run to end the first quarter set the tone for the rest of the game for the Lady Choctaws who took an 86-51 win over Bolton in the Region 7AAA Quarterfinals on Friday night at Dyer County High School.

The situation heading into the final eight minutes for the Dyersburg girls on Friday night was less than ideal as both Lady Trojan seniors were on the bench with four fouls as the black and gold held onto a six-point lead.

Nortek accessories department certified

The accessories department at Nortek Global HVAC was certified as a Demand Flow Technology (DFT) department in December of 2017. The accessories department at the Dyersburg facility produces kits and accessories used in the residential, commercial and manufactured housing market that Nortek supplies product in company-wide. Many of these are to assist with installation, add options, or are used for repair/replacement purposes. Nortek Global HVAC produces product using a production system called Demand Flow Technology (DFT). DFT is a synchronized, pull production system that is designed to build a daily mix of products to specific customer demands. This requires that employees become proficient in multiple job functions and work stations as a requirement to sustain the proper flow of product in all production areas.

Firestone donates to March of Dimes

Dot Foods employees receive bonus after tax overhaul

MT. STERLING, Ill. — Dot Foods, the largest food industry redistributor in North America, is happy to announce it will pay a $500 bonus to each of its full-time employees in the wake of the federal tax overhaul announced late last year. NWS issues flood watch following Friday rainfall

After much rainfall poured over Dyer County Thursday evening through Friday morning, minor flooding began to occur in areas across the county. At 4:49 a.m. Friday, the National Weather Service in Memphis issued a flood watch for much of the Mid-South.
