For the second straight year, the Dyersburg boys were within sight of extending their postseason past the regional tournament, but an early fourth-quarter run by South Side proved to be costly as the Trojans’ season ended with a 49-46 loss to the Hawks in the Region 7AA Semifinal on Tuesday night at McNairy Central High School in Selmer.

DHS Trojan Drama play opens Thursday

Dyersburg High School Trojan Drama will present four showings of their upcoming spring production ‘T@g Yourself #ScenesFromLife’ beginning Thursday evening. The show, which focuses on various life experiences, will be held inside the DHS Little Theater Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m., Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m., and Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m. All tickets are $6 per person, and children under the age of 5 will not be admitted.

Sheriff’s Office arrests student in connection with social media threats

At approximately noon on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of a 13-year-old juvenile allegedly involved in sending out a fake social media threat via Snapchat to numerous students of Three Oaks Middle School on Monday, Feb. 26, and has been charged with filing a false terroristic threat, a Class C felony. The juvenile will be held at the McDowell Center for Children pending arraignment. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the juvenile was a student of Three Oaks Middle School.
