Lady Trojans head to Haywood for Class AA Sectional game

Months of preparation and over 30 games since November have all led to what will go down in Brownsville on Saturday night as the Lady Trojans – the runner-ups from Region 7AA – will head to Haywood High School to face the Region 8AA champion Lady Tomcats in Class AA Sectional action at 7 p.m. for the right to go to the Class AA State Tournament which tips off next Thursday in Murfreesboro.

Rising waters initiate Army Corps of Engineers Phase 2 Flood Fight plan

With additional rainfall this week, various areas around the county have experienced flooding. Areas such as South Dyersburg, Bogota, and western Dyer County have all faced rising waters, especially from the North Forked Deer River and Obion River. Throughout the week, local residents and businesses in those areas began moving equipment to drier ground. Also this week, the Army Corps of Engineers set up shop in Dyersburg as part of the Phase 2 Flood Fight Plan.
