THP responds to 2-vehicle wreck involving commercial bus

On Thursday, June 14, at approximately 7:55 a.m., THP and the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 2-vehicle wreck on Highway 51 involving a Miller Transportation commercial bus transporting 11 individuals, and a 2006 red Ford Explorer, carrying three juvenile passengers.

Shooting in Newbern leaves one man injured

A 23-year-old Dyer County man was treated at West Tennessee Healthcare Wednesday, June13, after sustaining a gunshot wound to his right arm. According to Newbern Police Department, Newbern police officers Tim Wright and Brandon Alexander, along with deputies of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a call regarding shots fired in the North Grayson Street area at approximately 11 p.m.
