Library acknowledges 20 years of service from Freidhof

On Tuesday at noon, McIver’s Grant Public Library staff, board members, and community residents held a surprise celebration for Lara Freidhof to honor her 20 years of service and dedication to McIver’s Grant Public Library. Light refreshments were served, and library director Kathryn McBride presented Freidhof a book of photos highlighting Freidhof’s tenure with the library.

26th annual Newbern Depot Days festival set for Sept. 15

Newbern Depot Days will feature over 50 vendors selling a variety of items, from crafts to food. Also there will be a parade, money drawings, model trains on display at the Newbern Depot Museum, an art show, local live music performances, wagon rides, a street race and walk, a street train ride (not to be confused with a real train ride, which is not possible), and many new carnival-like rides that have never been to Depot Days before...
