George D. "Doc" Cowart, 91, of Springville, Tennessee died on Monday, October 15, 2018 at his residence in Springville, Tennessee. Born Tuesday, May 3, 1927 in Henagar, Alabama, he was the son of the late George B. Cowart and the late Jessie Marbutt Cowart. Mr. Cowart retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service to his country. He was a member of the Henry Church Of Christ. ...

Lady Choctaws win Best of the West Meet

With a total of four runners finishing in the top 20 as medalists on Tuesday afternoon at Troy, the Dyer County Lady Choctaws ran their way to another Best of the West title as the orange and white runners’ finishes were good enough to take the top spot by 30 points at Obion County Central.

Anchors up: Excel Boats sets sail from Lake County

On Monday, Oct. 15, Lake County Mayor Denny Johnson and Excel Boat Company Business Operations Manager and company spokesperson J. Paul Jackson confirmed the Excel Boats manufacturing facility, which was announced on April 30 and to be established in Ridgely, would not come to fruition. The creation of the facility would have initially created 200 jobs.

Dyersburg Board OKs street-paving list; mayor presents bond-approval letter
