Lady Trojans hold off USJ for road win

After trailing for the second straight night at the half, the Lady Trojans rallied in the third quarter for the second time in 24 hours and this time their performance in the fourth quarter insured their lead would stand as Dyersburg took a 55-52 win over the University School of Jackson in Jackson on Tuesday night.

Downtown Christmas tree donated by Civitan Club

To add additional holiday spirit to downtown Dyersburg, the Dyersburg Civitan Club recently donated a Christmas tree on the northeast corner of the court square. The Yoshino Cryptomeria tree, also known as a Japanese Cedar, was purchased and planted by the organization in spring of this year. ‘We wanted to put a Christmas tree downtown,’ said Jeff Jackson of the Dyersburg Civitan Club. ‘It ties in with the new downtown lights and all of the businesses that are decorating [for Christmas].’ The club will maintain the tree and plans to add other vegetation near the tree and walkway.
