Lady Trojans fall to high-scoring Greenfield

Just about 24 hours after coming off a disappointing performance against the Lady Pioneers in the semifinals of the Gibson County Christmas Tournament in Dyer, the Lady Trojans were able to keep up with the defending Class A State Champion Greenfield early on Saturday night but a strong third quarter by the Lady ‘Jackets proved to be the difference as Dyersburg fell 75-61 in consolation action.

Breakfast Rotary of Dyersburg holds 3rd Christmas for Kids event

On Thursday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m., the Breakfast Rotary Club of Dyersburg held the organization’s 3rd Christmas for Kids event inside the Community Building at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. Teaming with both the Dyersburg City and Dyer County school systems, Breakfast Rotary provided an evening of Christmas-themed fun and gifts for 96 children from 40 local families.

Local Operation Christmas Child effort donates over 3,500 gifts

Known as the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child aids in the effort of spreading love and joy throughout the world, using gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love to children. The outreach has affected children and families around the globe since 1993, but it has also brought together many local volunteers since its inception in Dyer County in 2001.

Heckethorn Manufacturing reopens Wednesday
