Choctaws rally past Wolves to advance to region semifinals

Despite trailing by as much as eight points during the second half and five points midway through the fourth quarter, the Choctaws rallied from behind on Saturday night to earn their first trip to the Region 7AAA Semifinals in four years with a 69-67 win over Cordova at Dyer County High School.

DC escapes semis, defeats Lady Tigers

With about two minutes left in the third quarter, things looked to be in the bag for the Lady Choctaws, at that point leading by 22 points over Hardin County. However, the Lady Tigers ended the frame strong then controlled much of the final eight minutes before Dyer County’s girls were able to hold off the Lady Tigers to take a 47-42 win in the Region 7AAA Semifinals on Monday night at Munford High School.
