Elizabeth Clark White, 89, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 14, 1929, in Houston, MS, to the late James and Rosa Wooldridge Clark. Elizabeth was a retired branch manager of First Citizens National Bank and was a member of Miller's Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, hiking and cooking. Crowd gathers for Historical Society’s presentation on Key Corner

City planners approve indoor shooting range site plan

On Thursday, March 14, at 10 a.m., the City of Dyersburg Municipal – Regional Planning Commission convened for its March meeting. All members of the planning commission were present, with the exception of Sherry Guthrie. The meeting also marked the first for newly appointed member, Dyersburg Alderman James Baltimore. Chairman Eddie Burks called the meeting to order, which led with the site plan for the proposed indoor shooting range in South Dyersburg.

Industrial board presents proposed retail project to City Finance Committee

On Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. the City of Dyersburg Finance Committee convened for their first meeting with newly elected board members inside the Community Room at McIver’s Grant Public Library. All members of the committee were present, which included Alderwoman Vanedda Webb, Aldermen Edward Burks and Dennis Moody, and Dyersburg Mayor John Holden. The committee heard several items listed on the agenda, including a presentation from Industrial Development Board [IDB] member David Hayes and IDB council John Lannom regarding the construction of a retail sales complex, ‘The Commons’, which is comparable to ‘The Columns’ in Jackson.

Arkansas residents’ cases bound over to circuit court

On Friday, March 15, Blytheville, Arkansas men Desmond Moore, 27, of 1132 Leawood, and Madison Middlebrook, 19, of 129 Chesterfield, appeared before Judge Dean Dedmon in Dyersburg City Court for a preliminary hearing regarding various alleged charges, including those of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon, among others.
