Discovery Park of America launches summer music festival

On Friday, March 15, Discovery Park of America announced it would be presenting a family-friendly summer music festival on Thursday evenings from May 2 to June 27, 2019. The event will take place around the park’s train depot and south lake and will feature local performers and bands along with bands from the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Department of Music. Anderson family shares insight on status of agriculture in Dyer County

National Agriculture Week officially came to a close Saturday. The week is recognized in classrooms and communities across the United States, celebrating the abundance of goods provided by agriculture as well as honoring the producers, agricultural associations, and countless others who contribute agriculturally. Agriculture is king in Dyer County, as it is in most of West Tennessee. There is a great chance of residents knowing at least one farmer, if not more. Property maintenance, curbside violations discussed at city meeting

The City of Dyersburg Street and Sanitation Committee convened Friday at 9 a.m. in the upstairs conference room at City Hall. All members of the committee, including Aldermen Ricky Hammond and James Baltimore, Alderwoman Mary Claire Hopper, and Mayor John Holden, were present and discussed various property maintenance issues and curbside garbage violations seen during last month’s bus tour.
