Dyersburg man’s bond set at $250,000 for alleged attempted murder, assault

On Monday, May 20, William Keith Jernigan, Jr., 32, of Dyersburg appeared in Dyersburg City Court before Judge Dean Dedmon on multiple alleged charges consisting of attempted first-degree murder, 2 counts of domestic aggravated assault, and interfering with an emergency call. Dedmon issued Jernigan’s bond at $250,000.

Dyersburg Board discusses Jennie Bell School, DPD officers awarded

On Monday, May 20, the City of Dyersburg Mayor and Alderpersons convened for their regularly scheduled meeting inside the Municipal Building courtroom at 7 p.m. With a fairly lengthy agenda, the board heard numerous bid requests, with the most discussed involving the Jennie Bell School. Additionally, during the meeting, Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell presented officers within the department various awards.

Budget committee OKs multiple budgets for 2019-20

The Dyer County Budget committee tentatively approved the following budgets for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. The budgets will be presented at a public hearing and before the Dyer County Legislative Body before final approval. The public hearing will tentatively be held at noon on Friday, June 14 at the Dyer County Courthouse.
