Michael Paul Smith, 52, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1966, in Dyersburg, TN, to Linda King Smith and the late Paul Edgar "Sonny" Smith. Michael was an avid wrestling fan and a loyal Jerry Lawler Fan. Texas 4000 for Cancer riders make overnight stop in Dyersburg

Thursday night, June 20, the Dyer County YMCA welcomed 27 road-weary cancer warriors of the Texas 4000, who made an overnight stop in Dyersburg while traveling on a 70-day, 4,000-plus-mile bike ride from Texas to Anchorage, Alaska. It is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world with all proceeds to benefit cancer research and patient programs.

GEN731 summer meet-up provides networking opportunity for residents

On Thursday, June 20, from 5-7 p.m., the Dyersburg/ Dyer County Chamber of Commerce’s GEN731 program held their Summer Meet Up at The Mill Workspace in downtown Dyersburg. The meeting was sponsored by the chamber of commerce as well as Tencom Services and provided networking opportunities for local residents and showcased 3-minute community project pitches from young adults in Dyer County.
