Dyersburg fireworks show scheduled Friday

The City of Dyersburg will host the annual ‘City of Dyersburg Gerald Ketchum Memorial Fourth of July Fireworks Show’ on Friday, July 5 at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. Fireworks are scheduled to begin once it becomes dark. The annual fireworks display has been held in Dyersburg for over 30 years. DPD reminds citizens fireworks not allowed in city limits

With Independence Day quickly approaching, the Dyersburg Police Department is issuing a reminder to local residents about city ordinance (7-402)(2) regarding the manufacture, sale, and discharge of fireworks within the city limits of Dyersburg. According to the aforementioned city ordinance, it warns, “(2) … it shall be unlawful for any person to store, to offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, or use or explode any fireworks; provided that the chief of the fire department shall have power to adopt reasonable rules and regulations for the granting of permits for supervised public displays of fireworks by the city, fair associations, amusement parks, and other organizations.”. ...
