Trojan defense has good night at Milan scrimmage

With the start of the 2019 season getting closer by the day, Dyersburg travelled to Milan on Friday to get some more important snaps in preparation for the opener later this month and edged out the Bulldogs by a two-point conversion 8-7 at Johnnie Hale Stadium.

State Gazette photos/ submitted Recently, Dyersburg Mayor John Holden and Brandon Buchanan with Buchanan Realty Group were invited to speak at the Retail Strategies / Retail Academy Conference and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Conference. They discussed the new retail sales complex scheduled to be built on 22 acres across from Dyersburg High School. This $15 million development will consist of 11 retail sites totaling 138,000 sq. ft. and multiple out parcels. Buchanan Realty Group is the developer of this complex.

DPD discovers meth and stolen weapon following traffic stop

On Sunday, August 11, shortly after 3 p.m., Dyersburg Police arrested two individuals following the discovery of methamphetamines and a stolen rifle during a traffic stop. Dyersburg Police arrested Gibson County residents Shanreaka Nicole Cooper, 32, and Gregory Hills II, 26, Sunday afternoon and both appeared in Dyersburg City Court Monday. Dyersburg City Court Judge Dean Dedmon issued bonds for both individuals, Cooper at $15,000 and Hills at $10,000.

Dyer County Recycles unveils mobile recycling unit

On Tuesday, Dyer County Recycles (DCR) members, along with numerous community partners, donated the organization’s mobile recycling unit to Three Oaks Middle School Recycling Club. The mobile recycling unit will assist the middle school in their recycling efforts, as well as provide residents with the county’s first three-in-one recycling center.

The Dyer County Legislative Body (CLB) convened Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. inside of the Dyer County Courthouse. The meeting of the CLB followed a brief meeting of the Local Government committee at 6 p.m. and the Budget committee meeting, held at 6:15 p.m.
