Republican primary state rep. candidates participate in debate

On Tuesday evening, October 1, Republican primary state representative District 77 candidates participated in a debate, hosted by the Dyer County Republican Party at the Lannom Center beginning at 7 p.m. All candidates were in attendance including current interim State Rep. Casey Hood of Obion County as well as Vanedda Webb, Bob Kirk, and Rusty Grills of Dyer County. Dyer County Republican Party President LeAnn Childress welcomed those in attendance, and Vice Chair Richard Schoepke introduced the debate’s moderator Justin Hanson, formerly of WMC Channel 5 of Memphis and current Mayor of the City of Covington. Candidates discussed issues pertaining to the local economy, education, health care, gun rights, and criminal justice among others.
