Choral Society announces rehearsal times for spring concert

The Dyersburg Choral Society will begin rehearsals on January 23 in preparation for its spring concert. Rehearsals will be held on Thursdays from 7 - 9 p.m. in the music room located in the E. H. Dr. King honored with annual march, celebration

On Monday, January 20, on the holiday that bears his name, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was honored by local residents with a march and celebration. The annual event, presented by the Dyer County NAACP branch, began at 10:30 a.m. with marches beginning at Future City and Bruce Recreation Centers with participants arriving at the Dyer County Courthouse in downtown Dyersburg for a short program starting at 11 a.m.

Deputies arrest Ridgely man after finding meth, firearm

Man arrested following seizure of drugs, shotgun

On January 15, Robert Brent Flatt, 33, of Dyersburg was arrested by deputies of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department on multiple charges following the seizure of approximately ¾ oz. of methamphetamine, 1-1/8 oz. of marijuana, a number of unidentified pills, and a 12-guage sawed-off shotgun.
