Graple was born on May 26, 1926, in Barb Wire, TN, to the late Obie Pierce Williams, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Long Williams. The week, presented by the Tennessee Department of Tourism, celebrates foundation of the craft that the state is well known for – music.
