Drug investigation leads to seizure of suspected Fentanyl, Newbern man arrested

An investigation by Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Newbern man, Charles Powell, 34, on weapon and drug charges.

Accused murderer’s case bound over to Grand Jury

On Friday morning February 21, Demarius Watson, 22, appeared in Dyersburg City Court for a preliminary hearing on a charge of first-degree murder. After hearing testimony, Judge Dean Dedmon found probable cause and bound the case over to the Dyer County Grand Jury.

Born August 11, 1927 in Chicago, IL, she is the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Kopacek. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Leighton was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dyersburg and St. Michaels Catholic Church in Orland Park, IL.
