Dyersburg ends season with 42-31 loss to Crockett County in Region 7AA semifinal

LEXINGTON — Prior to the start of the Region 7AA semifinal game against Crockett County on Monday night, Dyersburg had defeated the Lady Cavaliers on three previous occasions during the 2019-20 campaign. Though Dyersburg may have entered the contests as heavy favorites, evidently the Lady Cavaliers failed to get the memo. Despite an outstanding opening quarter by Dyersburg, the Lady Cavaliers rallied over the final three quarters, ending Dyersburg’s season with a double-digit, 42-31 victory.

Arlington ends Lady Choctaws' season in Region 7AAA semis

Though Dyer County was able to hang with the Lady Tigers early on, runs at the end of the first and second quarters set the tone for the Region 7AAA Semifinals in Arlington on Monday night as the hosting District 14AAA champions outscored Dyer County 17-6 over the first 10 minutes of the second half to help secure its 49-27 win over the Lady Choctaws and eliminate the orange and white.

Tennessee House passes anti-refugee resolution

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee House of Representatives voted 72 to 25 (2 present but not voting) to pass HJR741, a resolution to oppose Governor Lee’s decision to allow refugee resettlement to continue in Tennessee and to challenge his authority to do so. The resolution is the latest in a years-long campaign by anti-refugee activists to erode support for the program and to stop the resettlement of refugees in Tennessee.
