Special to the State Gazette This week, local small business owner and farmer Josh Kraus was invited to attend a national summit focused on fighting illegal immigration across the country. Kraus, who is running for State Representative in Dyer, Obion, and Lake Counties, was joined by several well-known anti-illegal immigration champions, including President Trump’s personal attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp, and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who in recent days has committed to working with President Trump to advance his conservative immigration policies.. ...

Newbern board upholds termination of former investigator

On Thursday, March 5, the Newbern Mayor and Board of Alderman met to hear the termination appeal of former Newbern Police Department investigator Rodney Wright. The hearing began at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, and lasted until 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Day of Hope is March 10

In hopes to bring awareness to addiction and mental illness across the state, March 10 is being celebrated this year as “Tennessee’s Day of Hope.” Dyer County will observe this day, which was proclaimed by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, during the Dyer County Health Council meeting on Tuesday.
