Weekend COVID-19 Testing Exceeds Projected Numbers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Today Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced more than 11,000 Tennesseans received free COVID-19 tests through the weekend efforts of Unified-Command Group to offer tests regardless of traditional symptoms. The Unified-Command Group is a joint partnership between the Tennessee Department of Health, the Tennessee Department of Military and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA).

28 confirmed COVID-19 cases for Dyer County, 10 recoveries

Heading into the most recent weekend, Dyer County had 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the Tennessee Department of Health. However, upon the announcement of Sunday’s numbers, Dyer County had increased to 28 positive cases. During the department’s most recent update on Monday, April 20, at 2 p.m., the case count for the county remained at 28, however, the update noted there were 400 negative tests and 10 recoveries within the county.

Develey partners with local organizations to provide assistance during pandemic

In an effort to assist those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Develey Mustard & Condiments plant in Dyersburg has partnered with a local organization and business. Over the recent week, Develey has partnered with Full Throttle S’loonshine in their efforts of providing hand sanitizer, as well as the Dyer County Salvation Army’s food boxes.

Gov. Lee announces Safer at Home Order will expire April 30

Today, April 20, Governor Bill Lee announced the order for Tennesseans to remain at home will expire April 30, with the vast majority of businesses in 89 counties allowed to re-open on May 1.
