Economic Recovery Group to lift capacity restrictions on restaurants and retailers

Nashville, Tenn. – As Tennessee continues to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the state’s Economic Recovery Group announced on Friday, May 15 it will lift capacity restrictions on restaurants and retail to instead focus on social distancing best practices effective May 22 and issue guidelines to facilitate the safe reopening of larger, non-contact attractions on or after May 22. New Tennessee Pledge guidelines will be released early next week. Six counties – Shelby, Madison, Davidson, Hamilton, Knox and Sullivan – may continue to follow individual, county-specific reopening plans created in consultation with State and local health departments.

Community members share concerns over proposed subdivision

The Dyersburg Municipal-Regional Planning Commission convened via teleconference Thursday at 10 a.m. to discuss two items of new business, a preliminary subdivision plat for Executive Palisades and a site plan for Jack’s Restaurant. At 8 p.m., Friday, May 15, a limited number of family members, along with educators and special guests gathered at historic J.C. Sawyers Stadium to recognize the successes and the official end of the high school chapter for Dyersburg High School’s Class of 2020.
