Dyersburg Board to further review mobile food, vendor ordinance following public hearing

The City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened electronically on Monday evening, June 1, at 7 p.m. for their regularly scheduled board meeting. The hot topic of discussion was the one and a half hour long public hearing and discussion of Ordinance BB672, an ordinance amending the text of the ordinance pertaining to Business, Peddlers, Solicitors, etc.

Newbern City Hall moves across street

Pedestrian dies on bypass after being struck by vehicle

Just before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 3, the Dyersburg Police Department responded to Highway 51 Bypass near Clubhouse Drive where a pedestrian, Willie Sanders, 56, of Dyersburg, was struck by a Chevrolet truck while attempting to cross the bypass. Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene.
