Dyer County pulls away in second half to move to 2-0

After extending their lead late in the first half with a big special teams’ play, Dyer County put the pedal to the metal in the second half, as the Choctaws (2-0) scored 21 straight points in the third and fourth quarters on the way to a 42-12 win over visiting Obion County Central (1-1) on Thursday night in Newbern.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for August 28

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Friday, the department reported Dyer County as having 924 total COVID-19 cases, which contains confirmed and probable cases, as well as 414 active cases and 500 recoveries. The total number of deaths in the county due to the virus increased to 10.

Tickets for the Dyersburg-Dyer County Arts Council's third annual murder-mystery dinner-theater night are still available for purchase.
