Fentanyl smuggling operation foiled in Dyer County Jail

DYER COUNTY, TENN. – A joint drug investigation between the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office and the West Tennessee Drug Task Force has resulted in two arrests for drug violations and bringing contraband into a penal institution, said Johnie Carter, director of the West Tennessee Drug Task Force.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for September 4

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Friday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,025 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 141 active cases with 874 recoveries/inactive cases. The total number of deaths remained at 10.

Lady Trojans soccer surges past Lexington in second half

Fairgrounds leased for carnival

Recently, the Dyer County Fair Association announced a carnival would take place during the traditional county fair week, Monday, September 7-Saturday, September 12. Amusement Attractions and Pope’s Concessions will be present at the fairgrounds this upcoming week providing rides and food beginning at 5 p.m. each evening. The event is not associated with the Dyer County Fair Association or the fair itself.
