Northview shuts out Three Oaks for TMSAA Sectional title

For the second time in school history, the Northview Middle School football team (9-1) claimed the TMSAA West Sectional Championship as the Choctaws from Newbern avenged their loss from September to county rival Three Oaks (6-1) with a 42-0 win at Three Oaks on Tuesday night.

TDA warns consumers about credit card skimmers at gas pumps

NASHVILLE (TDA) – The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is alerting consumers to an increase in fraudulent credit card devices found at gas pumps across the state. “Inspectors with our Weights and Measures Section are discovering credit card skimmers during routine gas pump inspections,” Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, D.V.M. said. “Thanks to the watchful eyes and thoroughness of our inspectors, consumers are protected at the pump.”...

Mayor Young reinstates mask mandate for the remainder of 2020

On Wednesday afternoon at the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, Dyer County Mayor Chris Young announced a re-instatement of a mask mandate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The mandate mask requirement for Dyer County will begin at 12:01 a.m., Oct. 22 and will be effective through the end of the year, unless otherwise lifted by the county mayor.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for October 21

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Wednesday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 2,071 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 369 active cases with 1,676 recoveries/inactive cases.
