Dyer County heads to Kenwood to close regular season

With the playoffs looming on the first Friday in November next week, the Dyer County Choctaws (6-2, 3-1) have locked up the No. 3 seed coming out of Region 7-5A and will conclude their 2020 regular season on the road at Kenwood on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for October 29

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Thursday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 2,336 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 293 active cases with 2,005 recoveries/inactive cases.

Dyersburg Committee votes to appeal FEMA flood insurance rate map, report

On Wednesday, October 28, the City of Dyersburg Local Government Committee convened in the Community Room at McIver’s Grant Public Library to discuss the proposed flood hazard areas in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) preliminary flood insurance rate map and flood insurance report in regard to the areas protected by the Bruce and Finley (Reagan) levees within the City.
